While doing some pre-Thanksgiving cooking and prep work, my garbage disposal failed along with the adjacent exit pipe/fitting under the kitchen sink. Since I was hosting the holiday, I was in a panic. Several other companies- even the 24 hour emergency ...ones- couldn’t get out to help me. Thome was able to adjust their schedule and help me. The plumber arrived as promised and was able to make the necessary repairs quickly. Great service!!
The two guys did the job fine and were friendly etc. I was in a bind and needed my cracked plumbing pipe repaired. However, I wish I had seen the reviews on here and other sites like yelp, these guys are expensive! I was quoted $570.00 for the cracked ...pipe piece under my house. Then the guys realized the crack was caused by a root, which they had to cut and basically dig out ~2 feet on the outside wall to replace a short section of pvc. I wanted it done correctly and was told it would be “a little more”. At that point, I thought, well the first $570 job I agreed to seemed high, I could see a couple hundred as a little more. Well the final bill was $1044.00, a little more turned into double. All I can say is beware, these guys are expensive!! Attached pic is the broken pipe prior to their repair.
Just had service done on a clogged kitchen drain. The job consisted of using an electric snake to cable the drain after removing the plumbing bend from the sink. Technician John was fantastic, on time, respectful, clean, answered all questions, and ...explained the service thoroughly. My issue with the company is the absence of transparency when it comes to estimates and pricing. When I called the day prior to schedule an appointment, I was told by Sandy and Tiffany that no estimates or pricing can be disclosed over the phone until the technician can view the site. The $70 diagnostic fee was fair and would be removed if service was done same day, so I proceeded with the appointment. Upon inspection and recognizing that the drain pipe would need cabling, John showed me the pricing on his tablet, which showed that the standard price of a kitchen drain service was $404. This seems quite high, considering that the job takes about an hour, and the technicians who use the snake do not need to be licensed plumbers. I believe that because the tablet used for invoices must have a price directory, these prices should be disclosed prior to confirming an appointment. When I asked Sandy and Tiffany what the average price of a sink snaking service was, neither would tell me, when it's clear that the minimum this service could even cost is $400. If roof or basement access was required, this price would be even higher. I needed the job to be done quickly and done well, and it very much was. However, I'm discouraged by the lack of upfront pricing along with the high final price, and likely will shop around further if I need service in the future.
Prices are too high and the owners are irresponsible
Great customer service. Had a scheduling problem that they addressed right away (had a replacement tech come a couple hours after the original had a problem) and gave me a $25 discount for my inconvenience. Have nothing but praise for this company both ...on the phone and the techs that do the work.
The plumber repaired/installed shutoff valves below the utility sink, and in the mainline that supplies the laundry room. He also install a purchased faucet to the utility sink. The job was done with high quality and attention to detail, making sure it ...was installed smartly and no residual leaks, ran water, and made sure all operated well, to include proper cleanup. The plumber was friendly, professional, and conversant about the job and answered all my questions. These things are why I continue to be a repeat customer of Thome Plumbing.
This company is Amazing, had to have my water heater changed, I called late in the day, they fit me in the next morning, Adam showed up, very professional and not pushy. He followed the mask rules, finished the job, left my house in excellent condition. ...You want great service, Call Thome Plumbing.
I’ve used Thome several times before and I always go back to them for the quality of repairs, professionalism, and honest assessment about options and repairs. I had a leaking faucet for a recent clothes washer install. It leaked from the spicket ...discharge when I removed the old washer, so it wasn’t an emergency. The day they arrive I went to the basement to clear space to access the water shutoff to the laundry room. I found a regular drip that left water over the floor in a wide area and damage some stuff in that storage area. Apparently during the install, and using the new washer several times, the valve leaked in multiple area (stem, discharge) and ran down the drain pipe to the basement. The plumber was awesome. He determined the leak was the source and not additional problems. He re-did the valves and connection in an upgraded fashion (ball valves with threaded ends to make the future replacement easier (kind on the next plumber). It’s this extra effort and making a skater repair rather than a basic fix. I’ve always had this level of service from Thome and will continue to use them.
Thome Plumbing replaced a saddle valve on my ice maker line with a tee and a 1/4 turn ball valve. Very professional installation and clean.
